Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality telemetry nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients, monitoring cardiac rhythms and intervening as needed
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop nursing plans that improve outcomes
• Administer medications and therapies accurately and safely, following facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams — physicians, therapists, and support staff — to coordinate patient-centered care
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
• Float to acute care units, adapting to different team workflows while maintaining excellent patient care standards
• Complete required documentation and participate in competency testing and skills checklists

Qualifications

• Current RN license (License/Certificate Verification required); Iowa licensure or compact state privileges as applicable
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications (listed as required/preferred in the assignment)
• Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical (acute care) nursing preferred
• Ability to float to other acute care units, including West Des Moines location
• Completion of required health screenings and immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Tdap, Varicella, COVID-19, Influenza, TB testing, 10-panel drug screen)

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Acute care nursing fundamentals and medical-surgical best practices
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with competency testing and skills checklists
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced clinical settings
• Comfort with electronic health records and accurate documentation
