Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative care for open heart (CVOR) patients before, during, and after surgery
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field, instruments, and equipment for cardiovascular procedures
• Anticipate surgical team needs and deliver timely, precise support in the OR
• Monitor patient status intraoperatively and respond to changes using BLS/ACLS protocols
• Participate in the on-call rotation, responding promptly and professionally to urgent cases
• Complete accurate documentation and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana) — License/Certificate Verification required
• Experience in CVOR and open heart cases preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS required
• NRP, NIHSS, CPI certifications preferred or available
• Successful completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and required pre-employment health screenings
• Ability to participate in on-call rotations including nights and weekends

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN)
• Active RN license in the state of Indiana

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on experience with cardiovascular operating room procedures and open heart workflows
• Solid knowledge of sterile technique and OR safety practices
• Proficiency with BLS and ACLS emergency protocols
• Strong intraoperative patient assessment and monitoring skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity surgical environments
• Comfort with completing required checklists and compliance documentation
