Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients arriving to the emergency department quickly and accurately
- Provide high-quality emergency care including pediatric and trauma interventions
- Administer medications, perform procedures and monitor patient responses safely
- Collaborate with the ED team, physicians and specialists to coordinate timely patient care
- Maintain clear, timely documentation of assessments, interventions and patient status
- Participate in competency testing and skills checks to uphold clinical standards
- Support family education and provide compassionate communication during stressful moments
Qualifications
- Active RN license with verification required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC, plus TNCC
- Level 1 trauma experience preferred
- Current fit testing and required health clearances (Tdap, TB screening, COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, Varicella, influenza, drug screen)
- Comfort working in a fast-paced emergency department environment and following specialty-specific competency assessments
Knowledge & Skills
- Emergency Department nursing workflows and triage principles
- Trauma nursing fundamentals and resuscitation protocols
- Pediatric emergency care and age-appropriate interventions
- Life support skills (BLS/ACLS/PALS) and emergency procedures
- Strong clinical judgment, rapid assessment and prioritization skills
- Clear documentation, teamwork and communication under pressure
