Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform clinical laboratory testing accurately and timely on third shift to support patient care
- Operate and maintain analyzers and lab equipment, following manufacturer and facility protocols
- Run and document quality control, proficiency testing, and laboratory competency checks
- Process and verify specimens, ensuring correct labeling and chain of custody
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate when necessary to minimize downtime
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with regulatory and facility standards
- Collaborate with night-shift team members and communicate critical results to providers
Qualifications
- ASCP or AMT certification (ASCP or AMT required as noted)
- Current BLS certification
- License/certificate verification as required by state/facility
- Comfortable and experienced working third shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Ability to pass fit test, Trinity 10-panel drug screen, and required immunizations/vaccine checks
Education
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Laboratory competency testing and strong attention to quality control
- Familiarity with Trinity Skills Checklist and specialty competency procedures
- Specimen processing, accurate documentation, and sample handling
- Troubleshooting analyzers and routine maintenance
- Clear communication with clinical staff and handoffs during shift changes
- Dependability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently overnight
