Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate the TrueBeam linear accelerator to deliver precise radiation treatments with safety and confidence
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff to execute patient treatment plans
- Perform patient setup, positioning, and verification while providing compassionate care and clear communication
- Document treatments accurately in the medical record and follow facility protocols for QA and safety
- Participate in specialty competency testing and maintain currency on required skills and certifications
- Contribute to a culture of safety by following infection control, radiation safety, and facility policies
Qualifications
- Current state license or certification as required for Radiation Therapists; License/Certificate Verification will be completed
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Experience with TrueBeam linear accelerator is required
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist as part of onboarding
- Current immunizations and health requirements (fit test, drug screen, Tdap, COVID-19 vaccination, MMR, Hep B, Flu, PPD/IGRA, Varicella, physical/health statement)
Education
- Completion of an accredited Radiation Therapy program (Associate or Bachelor level preferred)
- ARRT (Radiation Therapist) certification preferred or as required by state
Knowledge & Skills
- Proven knowledge of radiation therapy procedures and safety protocols
- Proficiency with TrueBeam operation, patient positioning, and image guidance
- Strong patient communication and bedside manner for supportive oncology care
- Familiarity with treatment documentation, charting, and QA processes
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
