Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour night shifts, 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM (night), schedule includes weekends with 4 weekend shifts per rotation; may float to mother/baby or postpartum as needed

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional labor and delivery nursing care for laboring, antepartum and preterm pregnant patients
- Monitor fetal status and maternal well-being using Electronic Fetal Monitoring (Fetal Link) and interpret dysrhythmias accurately
- Circulate and recover during C-sections confidently, working closely with anesthesia and the OB hospitalist team
- Administer and titrate IV medications (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate) per established protocols
- Document all care accurately and efficiently in the Cerner EMR
- Participate in a pass/fail simulation lab on day one of orientation and use study guides provided to demonstrate competency
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (RT, anesthesia, IV team, pharmacy) to deliver safe, coordinated care
- Follow AWHONN guidelines and unit staffing practices to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license (state licensure required to submit)
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Proven experience with C-sections (circulating/recovering) and comfort in the OR environment
- Strong computer charting skills, preferably with Cerner EMR
- Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam (80% required, up to 2 attempts) — please review and be comfortable with dysrhythmia interpretation prior to submitting
- Willingness to complete and pass a simulation lab on day 1 of orientation
- Comfort titrating drips per protocol and working in a Level II perinatal and Level 1 Trauma Center environment
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- BSN not required for submission but may be preferred by some hiring managers
Knowledge & Skills
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and Fetal Link proficiency
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac monitoring confidence
- IV medication titration and drip management (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate)
- Cerner EMR documentation and computer charting skills
- OB triage, antepartum care, and labor & delivery best practices
- Ability to function in a high-acuity setting including C-section circulation/recovery
- Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking under pressure
