Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise technologists and support staff to deliver high-quality imaging services
- Manage daily staffing and resource allocation to meet productivity and operational goals
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Perform and oversee image quality control and enforcement of departmental policies
- Act as a liaison between patients, families, physicians and departments to solve problems
- Provide education and training to patients, students and staff on imaging procedures
- Monitor departmental performance and report outcomes to leadership
- Support staff development, promote employee satisfaction, and utilize progressive discipline when needed
Qualifications
- Current Certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) issued by CA Department of Health Services OR ARRT license (required)
- Current CPR certification (required)
- Minimum five years’ experience as a working Diagnostic Technologist in an acute-care setting
- At least two years of supervisory experience in an acute-care setting (required)
- Prior supervisory/managerial experience (3–5 years) is desired
- Certification in a specialized area (NMTBC, MRI, or similar) is a plus
- Demonstrated leadership ability, strong communication and problem-solving skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of radiographic exposure principles, positioning and patient care
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, ACR, Title 17 & 22 survey/compliance standards
- Expertise in quality assurance, image quality control, radiation physics and protection
- Ability to evaluate departmental workflows and recommend resource allocation
- Strong interpersonal skills for interdepartmental communication and staff coaching
- Comfort educating patients, families, students and clinical staff
