Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect nursing care within a therapeutic, trauma-informed model
• Develop, implement, and document individualized treatment plan goals and interventions
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu grounded in core behavioral health principles
• Serve as charge nurse when required—lead, coordinate, and support the team
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to champion patient-centered care
• Manage crisis situations calmly and effectively, using de-escalation and restraint reduction techniques
• Use the Electronic Medical Record to document care, communicate with colleagues, and track patient progress

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the State of Massachusetts (required)
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience (required)
• Current CPR certification (required)
• Willingness to float and assume charge responsibilities
• BSN preferred
• Experience with restraint reduction, de-escalation, or crisis intervention preferred
• Previous inpatient behavioral health and/or substance use treatment experience preferred

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (required)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing and behavioral health treatment modalities
• Trauma-informed care and recovery-focused approaches
• Crisis management and intervention skills
• Ability to build therapeutic relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Record systems and basic typing/computer skills
• Excellent time management, delegation, coaching, and team-building abilities
• Critical thinking and clinical decision-making under pressure
