Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead pharmacy operations for assigned site(s), ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered medication use
- Oversee development and implementation of policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
- Drive medication safety initiatives and participate in system committees to advance patient outcomes
- Collaborate with system pharmacy leadership to analyze problems, develop solutions, and plan operational activities
- Manage human resources responsibilities including hiring, development, performance evaluation, and team morale
- Coordinate with information systems to optimize pharmacy information management, charge systems, and inventory control
- Monitor operational metrics and budgets, and make adjustments to meet productivity and patient outcome targets
- Serve on Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Safety, and related committees to influence clinical and operational decisions
- Step in to perform pharmacy manager duties as needed and support site leadership in all aspects of pharmacy services
Qualifications
- PharmD degree from an accredited college or university (required)
- Active Wisconsin Pharmacist License (required)
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration, or equivalent experience (required)
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience in a pharmacy setting
- Demonstrated experience with pharmacy information management systems and inventory control
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and commitment to medication safety and quality improvement
Education
- PharmD from an accredited college or university
- ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration preferred or equivalent experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Pharmacy operations and medication safety expertise presented in a practical, system-focused way
- Regulatory compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and accreditation standards
- Experience with pharmacy information management systems and electronic charge/inventory systems
- Policy and procedure development paired with quality assurance and performance measurement
- Inventory control, charge capture, and operational budget awareness
- Leadership, staff development, human resources processes, and partner engagement
- Active participation in Pharmacy and Therapeutics and safety committees to advance clinical best practices
