Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients in the McAuley Center
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders
- Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in the medical record
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues and interdisciplinary team members to support patient goals
- Follow infection control protocols and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff
- Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical readiness
- Complete required health screenings and maintain up-to-date immunizations and fit test status
Qualifications
- Current, active LPN license in the state of Connecticut (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Successful License/Certificate verification as part of onboarding
- Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
- Must pass required health screenings: 2-step PPD or IGRA, fit test, drug screen, and immunizations (MMR, Hep B, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, influenza)
- Clear background and ability to meet facility health and safety requirements
Education
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program or equivalent diploma
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
- Comfortable using electronic health records and documenting care
- Knowledge of infection prevention and safe patient handling
- Ability to work independently in a per diem pool while collaborating with the team
- Familiarity with Trinity specialty competency processes and respirator evaluation
- Good communication, time management, and patient-centered care approach
