Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
• Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan and coordinate care
• Complete Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklists as required
• Maintain infection control and safety standards, including fit testing and required immunizations
• Support patients and families with clear education and compassionate communication

Qualifications

• Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Iowa; license/certificate verification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
• Current on required health screenings and immunizations (TB test or IGRA, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, Hepatitis B, influenza)
• Successful completion of Trinity 10 panel drug screen and fit testing
• Previous medical-surgical nursing experience preferred

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and patient care fundamentals
• Proficiency with patient assessment, documentation, and clinical decision making
• Comfortable following facility policies and completing specialty competency checklists
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
• Skilled at clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with infection control practices and required occupational health processes
