Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients
- Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings to the care team
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and facility protocols
- Document care accurately and timely in the patient record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan and coordinate care
- Complete Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklists as required
- Maintain infection control and safety standards, including fit testing and required immunizations
- Support patients and families with clear education and compassionate communication
Qualifications
- Active RN license with eligibility to practice in Iowa; license/certificate verification required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist
- Current on required health screenings and immunizations (TB test or IGRA, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, COVID-19, Hepatitis B, influenza)
- Successful completion of Trinity 10 panel drug screen and fit testing
- Previous medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
Education
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) or equivalent
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong medical-surgical nursing knowledge and patient care fundamentals
- Proficiency with patient assessment, documentation, and clinical decision making
- Comfortable following facility policies and completing specialty competency checklists
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
- Skilled at clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with infection control practices and required occupational health processes
