Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform CT and general diagnostic radiographic exams competently and compassionately
- Prepare and administer contrast media and perform intravenous contrast injections safely
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment while ensuring patient safety and image quality
- Maintain patient rooms, equipment, supplies, and medications to support smooth operations
- Follow quality assurance protocols, radiation protection measures, and department policies
- Document procedures accurately and communicate findings effectively with the care team
- Support Enloe Medical Center’s service excellence mission and uphold ARRT Standards of Ethics
- Troubleshoot technical issues and participate in continuous improvement of imaging services
Qualifications
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the State of California (CRT) — required
- ARRT certification (or working toward ARRT) — desired/expected
- Approved CPR certification — required
- Fluoroscopy permit to be obtained within 6 months of hire (if not already held)
- Radiographic contrast media and venipuncture certification — desired
- Two years' experience in diagnostic x-ray preferred; at least one year of CT experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and administer contrast media and perform venipuncture
- Strong communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Education
- Current full certificate of Radiologic Technology (CRT) — State of California
- Approved CPR certification
- ARRT certification preferred; advanced CT certification is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Thorough knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and patient positioning
- Principles of radiographic exposure, radiation physics, radiation protection and radiobiology
- CT equipment operation and imaging procedures
- Quality assurance processes for imaging and equipment
- Patient care, bedside manner and the ability to work with diverse populations
- Ability to follow protocols, prioritize tasks, and work independently when needed
- Clear communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
