Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care for ICU-level patients in an outpatient/operational setting as assigned
- Perform thorough patient assessments and continuously monitor clinical status using appropriate monitoring equipment
- Respond rapidly and effectively to emergencies, implementing ACLS and critical-care protocols when needed
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate safe, patient-centered care
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record
- Participate in required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain specialty readiness
- Adhere to infection control, vaccination, and health screening requirements to keep patients and staff safe
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Iowa (required)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications (required)
- Completion of Trinity Specialty Specific Competency Testing and Trinity Skills Checklist (as part of onboarding)
- Successful completion of fit test, drug screen, immunizations, and health screenings listed in credentialing checklist
- Previous ICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Current basic computer/EHR skills and strong documentation practices
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Completion of required specialty certifications and facility-specific competency testing
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong critical care assessment and monitoring skills
- Familiarity with ACLS algorithms and emergency response
- Comfortable with telemetry and advanced monitoring equipment
- Effective communication and teamwork in high-acuity settings
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and remain calm under pressure
- Commitment to continuous learning and competency validation
