Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and accurately record vital signs and promptly report changes in condition
• Support nursing and mental health staff with daily care, observation, and patient safety
• Maintain timely, thorough documentation to support continuity of care
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment for patients and staff
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and security protocols consistently

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification in the state of California (required)
• Minimum 1 year of CNA experience within the last 12 months
• Current BLS certification (AHA) preferred
• Ability to pass an extensive background check and clearance process
• Highly reliable with excellent attendance and no planned time off during the assignment
• Available to start within 3 weeks of offer and complete onboarding/compliance within 14 days
• Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively in a mental health and correctional setting

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Active CNA certification in California required
• BLS (AHA) certification preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care skills and experience with ADLs
• Accurate vital signs monitoring and documentation
• Clear verbal and written communication skills
• Good observational skills to notice and report changes in patient condition
• Comfort working within facility security protocols and structured environments
• Ability to collaborate with nursing and mental health professionals
