Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (varied days of week, includes nights and every-other-weekend). Common shift times: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Day), 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Night). Other shift options seen on unit: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Self-schedule; 12-hour night assignments available.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a mixed PCU/MedSurg/Oncology unit
• Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other complex therapies per policy (chemo certification preferred)
• Safely titrate common drips such as insulin and cardizem and manage set-rate infusions
• Monitor advanced hemodynamics (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and respond to changes in condition
• Care for ventilated patients and manage specialty equipment after training
• Document patient care accurately in EPIC and participate in hourly rounding to improve patient experience
• Collaborate with PT/OT, case management, social work, dietician and other team members for coordinated care
• Step into charge nurse duties when required, supporting team workflows and patient throughput

Qualifications

• Active RN license for practice in Nebraska (must be valid at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred (PCU/Oncology/MedSurg experience highly valued); first-time travelers may be considered
• BLS and ACLS required
• ONS/ONCC certification required (chemotherapy certification preferred but not mandatory)
• EPIC experience within the past 6 months preferred to streamline orientation
• Driver's license required at submission to confirm radius eligibility
• Ability to pass orientation skills exam (open-book) with a 90% score

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma accepted; BSN is not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of PCU and oncology patient populations and common diagnoses
• Familiarity with chemotherapy administration principles and safe handling
• Comfort with advanced monitoring: hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and ICP
• Experience or willingness to train on ventilator care and Alaris IV pumps
• Proficient charting in EPIC and strong clinical documentation skills
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient-centered care practices
• Competence in drip titration protocols and medication safety
