Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts with primary night coverage; primary night shift 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Other available shifts include 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Every other weekend required; self-scheduled. Guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality PCU/stepdown and oncology nursing care to adult patients with compassion and precision
• Administer medications and supportive therapies safely, with attention to chemotherapy protocols when applicable
• Titrate drips and manage common infusions (insulin, cardizem, heparin) following unit guidelines
• Chart accurately and efficiently in EPIC to maintain clear, timely patient records
• Operate and monitor Alaris IV pumps and specialty equipment; escalate concerns promptly
• Perform hourly rounding and patient-focused communication to enhance patient experience
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (PT/OT, case managers, social work, dietician) to coordinate care
• Step into charge or leadership duties when needed (charge experience preferred) and support unit teamwork

Qualifications

• Current RN license (Nebraska or compact RN as applicable) and ability to submit license at time of application
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS required
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred; oncology chemo experience a strong plus
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (PCU/stepdown or med/surg/oncology experience preferred)
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm radius rule)
• Willingness to complete orientation including a pass/fail skills exam (90% required during orientation)
• Comfort with ventilator awareness and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) — unit will provide training as needed

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma acceptable; BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of PCU/stepdown nursing and oncology patient needs
• Proficient charting in EPIC and timely documentation practices
• Experience with Alaris IV pump operation and medication administration safety
• Ability to manage and titrate common drips and set-rate infusions
• Familiarity with ventilator basics and hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Team-oriented communication, conflict resolution, and bedside patient advocacy
• Comfort with LYKO lifting equipment and safe patient handling practices
