Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond promptly to changes
• Manage ventilators and deliver evidence-based respiratory therapies
• Administer aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway clearance techniques
• Perform airway management and suctioning with patient safety as the top priority
• Obtain and interpret arterial blood gases to guide treatment decisions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize care plans
• Participate in Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to maintain expertise

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Therapist license (state licensure and verification required)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Successful completion of Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist
• Ability to pass fit test, required immunizations, and Trinity 10 panel drug screen
• Clear background and license/certification verification
• Comfort working overnight shifts and covering one holiday during the assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and respiratory support modalities
• Proficiency interpreting arterial blood gases and adjusting therapy accordingly
• Skilled in oxygen delivery systems, aerosol therapy, and airway management
• Familiarity with infection control practices and patient safety protocols
• Competent clinical documentation and electronic health record use
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-acuity settings
• Ability to complete and maintain specialty competency testing and checklists
