Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and administer the Physical Therapy program, providing hands-on leadership and direction to staff and contract clinicians
• Supervise, train and evaluate hourly and contract therapy staff to ensure excellent patient care and compliance
• Develop and implement individualized therapy programs using therapeutic modalities such as manual therapy, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction and more
• Provide direct patient care including gait training, balance re-education, wheelchair and assistive device assessment, muscle testing and therapeutic exercise
• Monitor patient progress, modify treatments when needed, and consult with physicians to set long-range care plans
• Schedule treatments, prepare patient progress and monthly departmental reports, and maintain accurate documentation
• Manage the department budget, order supplies and coordinate with vendors to keep the clinic running smoothly
• Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives and represent the department in community and organizational settings

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Physical Therapy license required
• BLS certification required
• Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association required
• Minimum five years of practical physical therapy experience
• Minimum three years of management experience in a Rehab Therapy department
• Ability to pass required safety-sensitive screenings and comply with RCW 49.44.240(3)(g)

Education

• Graduation from a School of Physical Therapy accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic modalities, therapeutic exercise, gait training and assistive device assessment
• Strong documentation and reporting skills with attention to regulatory compliance (HIPAA)
• Experience with staff supervision, scheduling, training and performance management
• Budgeting and vendor/supplies management experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with clinicians, physicians, patients and families
• Comfortable teaching and mentoring students and junior staff
• Problem-solving and analytical skills for clinical decision-making and departmental operations
• Commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care
