Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care to medical/surgical and critically ill patients requiring advanced monitoring
Operate and manage advanced medical equipment, including central lines (A-lines), invasive lines, ventilators, chest tubes, and multiple IV pumps
Assess patients and implement established policies and procedures with minimal supervision
Act as a clinical leader on the unit and assist with precepting and mentoring staff
Coordinate patient care from admission through discharge, including discharge planning
Give direction and collaborate with RNs, LPNs, CNAs, housekeeping, dietary staff, providers, charge nurse, supervisors, and nursing leadership

Qualifications

Current Montana RN licensure required
BLS and ACLS required
PALS, EPNC, TNCC preferred
Practice experience in an advanced medical/surgical unit and recent critical care nursing experience required
Demonstrated ability to manage ventilator-supported patients, chest tubes, central/invasive lines, and multiple IV pumps
Experience in clinical leadership and precepting

Education

Degree from an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

Patient assessment and advanced monitoring
Central lines (A-lines) and invasive line care
Mechanical ventilation and ventilator support
Chest tube management
IV pump management (multiple pumps)
Clinical leadership and precepting
Discharge planning and inpatient care coordination
Proficiency with advanced nursing principles and basic office equipment
