Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate direct personal care (ADLs like bathing, dressing, feeding) to your assigned caseload
• Take and accurately record vital signs and measure output to monitor patient status
• Observe, document, and promptly report changes in patient condition to the care team
• Assist with restorative care including use of assistive devices and range-of-motion activities
• Follow infection control practices and universal precautions to keep patients and staff safe
• Support the treatment team by participating in care plans and carrying out assigned nursing tasks
• Use proper body mechanics to safely move and position patients while preventing injury

Qualifications

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification required
• At least 6 months of experience in a long-term care (LTC) facility (explicit requirement)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Workers certification required within six months of employment
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand simple sentences in English
• Physically able to perform essential duties, including patient transfers and mobility assistance
• Patient-centered attitude with patience, tact, emotional stability, and respect for patient rights
• Previous work experience in Hawaii is a plus (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Activities of Daily Living (ADL) assistance and personal hygiene care
• Taking and recording vital signs; recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms
• Infection control, universal precautions, and first aid
• Patient observation, reporting, and documentation skills
• Restorative care practices and use of assistive devices
• Basic medical and nursing terminology and body mechanics
• Cultural awareness and ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Good oral and written communication and strong observation skills
