Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Plant Operations, Environmental Services, and Grounds teams — oversee about 45 FTEs and set clear performance expectations
• Direct maintenance activities for utility systems to ensure continuous supply of heat, steam, power, gas and medical gases essential for patient care
• Manage preventative maintenance programs and inspect equipment to meet operational and manufacturer standards
• Ensure outside contractors comply with regulatory agencies and hospital policies when working on site
• Serve as a cross-department liaison to assess needs and develop actionable plans that support clinical and facility operations
• Ensure the facility meets all regulatory standards including NFPA, OSHA, EPA and CMS as well as local building and fire codes
• Develop job-specific customer service expectations, training plans, and timely follow-up on employee and customer concerns

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field
• Minimum of 5+ years of personnel management experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of electricity, electronics, plumbing, carpentry, boiler operation, HVAC and general building maintenance
• Familiarity with autoclaving, bio-waste management, life safety codes, construction phasing and environmental services operations
• Ability to systematically apply engineering principles and diagnose/repair malfunctioning equipment or systems
• Candidate must be willing to relocate to a rural area

Education

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
