Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the Cost Accounting system to ensure accurate service line profitability analysis and timely P&L publishing
• Oversee the productivity system and generate reports required by external rating agencies such as S&P, Fitch, DAC and EMMA
• Leverage the Decision Support system to support strategic and financial planning initiatives across the organization
• Prepare and publish monthly service line and physician practice P&Ls and practice scorecards to inform leadership decisions
• Review and validate feasibility studies prepared with STRATA and help implement the STRATA rolling forecast module
• Develop financial feasibility and reimbursement templates that calculate ROI, payback, NPV, IRR and other decision metrics
• Establish recurring leadership reviews to analyze service line performance and drive performance improvement plans
• Compile data and documentation for FEMA/Single Audits, GME reporting, cost report filing and annual financial audits
• Train managers and directors to interpret productivity and financial reports and respond to ad hoc reporting requests
• Mentor and supervise the decision support team, and provide oversight on ERP, leasing software and other software implementations

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (required)
• Minimum 10 years experience in cost accounting, budgeting and/or decision support (required)
• Hands-on experience with STRATA financial software or similar decision support/forecasting tools
• Prior healthcare experience, ideally in a hospital finance environment
• Preferred: Master Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration
• Preferred certifications: financial and/or healthcare-related credentials
• Experience with hospital contracting, physician reimbursement, and bundled payments is a plus
• Proven experience preparing reports for rating agencies (S&P, Fitch, DAC, EMMA) is highly desirable

Education

• Required: Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Preferred: Master Degree in Business Administration or Health Administration

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep expertise in cost accounting, budgeting and decision support methodologies
• Proficiency publishing and analyzing P&Ls and service line profitability
• Strong financial modeling skills: ROI, NPV, IRR and capital project evaluation
• Experience using STRATA and familiarity with STRATA forecasting/rolling forecast modules
• Knowledge of ERP systems and leasing software components related to finance
• Ability to produce audit-ready reporting (FEMA, Single Audits, GME reporting, cost report filing)
• Excellent stakeholder communication, training, mentoring and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Comfortable delivering reports and analyses to executive leadership and external agencies
