Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic sonographic examinations of all requested body parts for radiologist interpretation
• Provide compassionate, age-appropriate patient assessment and care from newborns through geriatrics
• Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging paperwork
• Assume departmental quality assurance duties and contribute to accreditation efforts
• Care for and maintain transducers and Trophon station to ensure infection control and equipment longevity
• Assist with ultrasound-invasive procedures and consult with referring physicians as needed
• Transfer patients safely to and from imaging and uphold departmental policies and procedures
• Pursue continuing education and support training initiatives; step into supervisory responsibilities in the supervisor's absence

Qualifications

• Current ARDMS certification in at least one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS) required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required
• Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality; experience across ABD and OB/GYN strongly preferred
• Willingness to learn additional imaging modalities and assist with accreditation and quality programs
• Comfortable working in varied clinical settings and able to travel between SEARHC sites as required
• Ability to work well under stress and take initiative when needed

Education

• ARDMS certification in at least one modality (ABD, OB/GYN, RVT, or RDCS)

Knowledge & Skills

• Diagnostic medical sonography (Abdominal, OB/GYN, Vascular, Cardiac)
• Patient assessment and age-specific care (newborn through geriatric)
• Quality assurance and accreditation processes
• Transducer care, Trophon station maintenance, and infection control
• Documentation and medical records management
• Radiation protection principles and departmental policy adherence
• Strong communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
