Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support EHR and ancillary clinical system users using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, web conferencing, and live video methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content (labs, radiology, medications, immunizations, diagnosis/procedure codes) in collaboration with medical staff
• Triage user issues, escalate to subject matter experts, and ensure timely resolution
• Develop clear, effective training materials and documentation for diverse clinical audiences
• Continuously assess clinical decision support and recommend improvements to align with best practices
• Collaborate closely with IT teams, vendors, and clinical staff to maintain application performance and usability
• Evaluate and align clinical workflows across outpatient and inpatient SEARHC clinics to improve care delivery
• Support implementations and work outside regular hours when needed to meet project deadlines and ensure smooth launches

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct hire must have applied for AK license before start)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years' experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years' experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year' experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware/network experience)
• BSN preferred; advanced degrees may substitute for experience year-by-year
• Clinical informatics training and teaching experience preferred
• Experience with inpatient clinical settings, accreditation processes, and HL7 messaging preferred
• Ability to travel ~10%, work collaboratively across sites, and handle occasional long hours

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred; advanced degree may substitute for experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of EHR and clinical information systems
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Understanding of medical standards of care in outpatient and inpatient settings
• Experience with clinical content management and decision support
• Troubleshooting, triage, and user support skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze workflows, recommend process improvements, and implement change
• Comfort collaborating with IT staff, vendors, clinicians, and leadership
