Roles & Responsibilities

Perform scrub responsibilities across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations to ensure smooth, safe procedures
Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and the operating room for cardiovascular cases
Anticipate surgeon and team needs during CVOR procedures and provide timely instrument/equipment handoffs
Assist in perioperative care, including setup, positioning, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control standards
Document case information accurately and uphold patient confidentiality at all times
Collaborate with the surgical team and RN to support efficient OR flow and excellent patient outcomes

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (required for hires post-2009)
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist, with Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) specialty experience required
BCLS certification required
National certification preferred/accepted (NCCT, AST, or NBSTSA)

Education

High school diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program

Knowledge & Skills

Strong scrub techniques and perioperative care skills specific to CVOR
Ability to function independently within established protocols
Sound clinical judgment, tact, and professional demeanor
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills for documentation
Commitment to patient confidentiality and teamwork
Willingness to participate in on-call responsibilities

Benefits
