Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor patients continuously using telemetry systems and promptly report abnormalities
• Recognize and escalate arrhythmias and other critical cardiac events to nursing and providers
• Perform accurate documentation of alarms, events, and interventions in the patient record
• Collaborate with nursing and the care team to support patient safety and timely interventions
• Complete required competency exams and specialty skill checklists to maintain readiness
• Adhere to infection control, fit testing, and occupational health requirements to keep everyone safe

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification (required)
• Active license/certification verification as applicable for Monitor Technicians
• Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Must meet occupational health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, and drug screening
• Comfort working rotating night shifts and availability for required strike dates (02/18/2026 - 02/19/2026)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams

Education

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a Monitor Technician program or equivalent preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry/monitoring system familiarity and ECG rhythm recognition
• Excellent observational skills for detecting patient changes
• Clear, professional communication with nurses and providers
• Basic troubleshooting of monitoring equipment and alarm management
• Ability to follow protocols, document accurately, and complete competency testing
