Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all levels of EHR and ancillary system users using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and video conferencing methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content (labs, radiology, medications, immunizations, codes) in partnership with medical staff
• Triage user problems and coordinate with Help Desk, PC Techs, Network Admins, Coders, Medical Directors, and nurses for resolution
• Assess and improve clinical processes to align with current best practices across outpatient and inpatient settings
• Continuously evaluate clinical decision support systems and recommend actionable improvements
• Develop clear, engaging training materials and documentation that empower end users
• Collaborate closely with IT, vendor partners, and other SEARHC teams to maintain system reliability and relevance
• Support implementations and provide on-call assistance outside regular hours when needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Alaska or another U.S. state required (Direct Hire must have applied for Alaska license before start; agency staff must hold an active Alaska license)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year experience with computer technology tasks such as programming, installation, report generation, or hardware
• BSN preferred; advanced degree(s) may substitute for required experience on a year-by-year basis
• Teaching or training experience preferred; inpatient clinical and accreditation process experience preferred
• Familiarity with HL7 messaging preferred
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time and lift/move up to 50 lbs as needed

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) accepted and may substitute for experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Working knowledge of EHR and ancillary clinical applications, clinical informatics, and medical decision support
• Familiarity with scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Understanding of medical standards of care and best practices across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for diverse internal and external audiences
• Proven problem-solving, prioritization, and good judgment in fast-paced or stressful situations
• Ability to research, analyze, and recommend clinical process improvements
• Comfort collaborating with IT teams, vendors, and multidisciplinary clinical staff
