Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care on a medical-surgical telemetry unit, monitoring and responding to patient telemetry data
• Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized nursing plans that improve patient outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments safely, documenting all interventions accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate timely, patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications and self-care after discharge
• Respond to changes in patient condition promptly and escalate concerns to the care team
• Complete required competency testing and skills checklists to maintain clinical excellence

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (ability to obtain/verify licensure as required)
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, TNCC and NIHSS (verification required)
• Experience working on medical-surgical and telemetry units preferred
• Successful completion of pre-employment screenings: fit test, drug screen, immunizations and health requirements listed
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and rhythm recognition skills
• Solid medical-surgical assessment and critical thinking abilities
• IV therapy, medication administration and safe patient handling
• Proficiency with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient education skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment
