Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to patients on your unit
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor changes in condition
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and clinical staff to coordinate care
• Support discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery
• Maintain infection control practices and a safe clinical environment
• Demonstrate reliable attendance and professional conduct at all times

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license — California license preferred
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program or equivalent
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
• Strong attendance record required — good attendance and no TOR noted
• Comfortable working Tuesday through Saturday on a day shift schedule
• Previous experience in medical/surgical or correctional health settings a plus

Education

• Vocational Nursing diploma or completion of an accredited LVN program

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and basic clinical procedures
• Patient assessment, vital signs, and wound care basics
• Electronic charting and accurate documentation skills
• Strong communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
• Infection control and safe clinical practice knowledge
• Professionalism working in a correctional or secure facility environment
