Roles & Responsibilities

• Support psychiatrists and clinical staff by preparing patients and rooms for clinic visits
• Issue Durable Medical Equipment (DME) accurately and document issuance according to policy
• Use clinic computer systems and EMR to update charts, enter orders, and maintain accurate records
• Perform vital signs, basic assessments, and assist with medication administration when needed
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to provide instructions and follow-up care information
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and ensure clinical areas are stocked and organized
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth clinic flow and timely patient care

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification or equivalent clinical MA experience
• Experience in a psychiatric clinic setting preferred
• Demonstrated experience issuing DME and handling related documentation
• Comfortable and proficient with clinic computer systems and electronic medical records
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Up-to-date immunizations and the ability to pass background checks as required by the facility

Knowledge & Skills

• DME issuance workflows and documentation best practices
• Psychiatric clinic operations and patient support techniques
• Electronic medical record (EMR) navigation and clinic computer skills
• Basic clinical skills: vitals, patient prep, and infection control
• HIPAA and patient privacy practices
• Time management and teamwork in a fast-paced clinic environment
