Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately as directed
• Monitor patient status and document observations in the medical record
• Provide compassionate, respectful care to patients in a substance abuse treatment setting
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the care team to coordinate patient care
• Perform routine assessments, vital signs, and report changes promptly
• Support admissions, transfers, and discharge planning as needed
• Maintain infection control standards and contribute to a safe environment
• Educate patients about medications, procedures, and basic self-care

Qualifications

• Current California LVN license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Demonstrated reliability with good attendance; position requests no TOR
• Comfortable working in a correctional/substance abuse treatment environment
• Ability to work the scheduled Tue-Sat evening shift and adapt to daily location confirmations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Education

• Vocational Nursing diploma or completion of an accredited LVN program

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation expertise
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate charting
• Patient assessment skills including vitals and basic clinical observations
• Knowledge of infection control practices and safety protocols
• Ability to de-escalate situations and maintain professional boundaries
• Teamwork, time management, and strong prioritization under busy conditions
