Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication and swallowing function for patients across the care continuum
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to each patient
• Provide skilled therapy sessions and adjust approaches as patients progress
• Collaborate closely with nursing, PT, OT and other care team members to coordinate patient care
• Document clinical findings, progress notes and discharge plans in the medical record accurately and timely
• Educate patients, families and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing safety
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license (required)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience in hospital or rehabilitation settings supporting adult and pediatric populations
• Strong clinical reasoning and experience with dysphagia evaluation and management
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in standardized and functional assessments for speech, language and swallowing
• Proficient in developing measurable, patient-centered treatment plans
• Experience with dysphagia management, compensatory strategies and therapeutic interventions
• Familiarity with electronic health records and timely clinical documentation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and families
