Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patient condition during night shifts, responding promptly to changes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
• Provide compassionate care to adults in a substance abuse treatment facility setting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support individualized care plans
• Maintain clear, timely charting in the patient record and communicate handoffs effectively
• Promote patient safety, infection control, and facility policies during stewardship of the unit

Qualifications

• Valid California LVN license (required)
• Comfortable working nights and the specified schedule: Sun, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM)
• Good attendance record and no open TOR as noted in the order requirements
• Experience or willingness to work in a correctional/substance abuse treatment facility environment

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Vocational Nursing (LVN) program
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills: vitals, basic physical assessments, and monitoring
• Medication administration and accurate documentation
• Basic wound care and infection control practices
• Clear communication and teamwork across disciplines
• Ability to work calmly in higher-acuity or behavioral health situations
