Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' communication and swallowing needs using evidence-based evaluations
• Develop individualized treatment plans that target functional outcomes
• Provide skilled SLP therapy and interventions to help patients progress toward goals
• Document patient progress and outcomes clearly and timely, ensuring compliance
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians, and families to coordinate care
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to support carryover and safety
• Participate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Experience evaluating and treating adult rehab populations, including dysphagia care
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with clinical outcome measures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for team-based care
• Current BLS/CPR certification or willing to obtain

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP (preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
• Knowledge of evidence-based SLP interventions and outcome tracking
• Experience with interdisciplinary rehab teams and discharge planning
• Proficient clinical documentation and progress reporting
• Ability to educate and coach patients and caregivers effectively
• Strong time management and caseload prioritization skills
• Comfort working in an inpatient rehab or post-acute care setting
