Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a substance abuse treatment facility
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform patient assessments, record vital signs, and monitor progress
• Document clinical care clearly and promptly in the chart or EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support patient recovery
• Maintain infection control standards and a safe therapeutic environment
• Support patient education and discharge planning efforts
• Demonstrate professional conduct within a secure/correctional healthcare setting

Qualifications

• Active California LVN license (required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
• Previous experience in medical, behavioral health, or correctional settings a plus
• Demonstrated good attendance and reliable work history (no TOR preferred)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well on a team
• Ability to follow facility protocols and maintain safety standards

Education

• Vocational Nursing Certificate / LVN (required)
• High school diploma or GED (minimum)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and monitoring
• Basic wound care and vital sign assessment
• Clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Infection control practices and safety protocols
• De-escalation and patient-centered communication skills
• Understanding of behavioral health/substance use treatment principles
