Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, professional nursing care to patients in the medical unit
• Perform thorough physical assessments and develop appropriate nursing plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Document patient care and clinical observations clearly in the medical record
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity
• Monitor patient status and escalate changes in condition promptly
• Maintain safety, security, and professional standards within the correctional facility environment
• Participate in orientation, trainings, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — California license preferred or ability to obtain
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; advanced certifications a plus
• Comfortable working in a correctional facility environment and adhering to safety protocols
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills
• Reliable, professional, and able to work the listed Sunday-Thursday schedule

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
