Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to patients, assisting with daily living activities
• Monitor and document vital signs, behaviors and patient status accurately
• Support the nursing team by following care plans and reporting changes promptly
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control protocols
• Build respectful, professional rapport with patients and facility staff
• Participate in training and competency activities during the 2-week orientation

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in the practicing state (required)
• Experience in direct patient care preferred; correctional facility experience a plus
• Ability to pass background checks and facility-required screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations and TB screening as required by facility
• Reliable, professional, and able to work the assigned evening shift schedule

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completed state-approved CNA training program and active certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic nursing care and patient hygiene assistance
• Vital sign measurement and documentation
• Infection control best practices and safety procedures
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Patient observation and timely reporting of changes
• Comfort working in structured environments such as correctional healthcare
