Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopic and angiographic imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images
- Prepare patients and assist physicians during interventional procedures with sterile technique
- Manage contrast administration and monitor patient vitals throughout procedures
- Maintain radiation safety practices and ensure protective equipment is used properly
- Coordinate with clinical teams to facilitate efficient patient flow and procedure scheduling
- Document procedures accurately in the medical record and maintain equipment logs
- Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and communicate with biomedical/engineering as needed
- Provide compassionate patient education and post-procedure care instructions
Qualifications
- ARRT (R) certification or equivalent radiologic technologist registry preferred
- Current state radiologic technologist licensure as required by assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience in interventional radiology or vascular imaging preferred (1+ years recommended)
- Comfort working in a fast-paced procedural environment and with sterile technique
- Ability to travel and complete credentialing for short-term contracts
Education
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field; ARRT registry preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient with fluoroscopy, angiography, and digital imaging systems
- Knowledge of contrast media administration and patient monitoring
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and dose reduction techniques
- Familiarity with PACS and electronic medical record documentation
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in multidisciplinary procedural suites
- Ability to follow sterile technique and procedural protocols
