Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on clinical support to nursing staff and act as a go-to expert for complex patient care
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and ongoing clinical education for staff and students
- Mentor and precept nursing staff to build strong bedside skills and confidence
- Serve as a liaison between bedside clinicians and leadership to surface concerns and improvements
- Analyze patient data to identify practice gaps and design interventions to improve care
- Lead and participate in quality improvement audits and safety initiatives
- Facilitate implementation of new clinical practices, protocols, and equipment with targeted training
- Advocate for patients and families and promote evidence-based, ethical nursing practice
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of Alaska
- Minimum 5 years of acute care RN experience preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
- Clinical Competency Assessment (SEARHC) and High Risk Competency (SEARHC) preferred/required as listed
- Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed
- Ability to lift and/or move at least 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of acute care
Education
- Nursing degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Comprehensive patient assessment and safe medication administration
- Evidence-based practice and quality improvement methodologies
- Clinical education techniques and adult learning strategies
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making in acute care settings
- Infection control practices and regulatory compliance (OSHA, accreditation standards)
- Interdisciplinary collaboration and effective communication
- Proficiency with electronic health record workflows and documentation
