Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients thoroughly and create individualized care plans that drive better outcomes
• Implement evidence-based nursing interventions and monitor patient responses
• Evaluate and document patient outcomes, adjusting plans of care as needed
• Provide clear, compassionate patient teaching to support recovery and discharge goals
• Coordinate and supervise ancillary personnel to ensure smooth, safe care delivery
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and escalate concerns promptly
• Maintain professional nursing standards and compliance with hospital policies

Qualifications

• Current Iowa RN license (required)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required
• Med-Surg experience preferred but not required — welcoming new grads with strong clinical skills
• Completion of required hospital onboarding items and immunizations prior to start

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN diploma/ADN/BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Care planning and implementation using the nursing process
• Patient teaching and education techniques
• Familiarity supervising and delegating to ancillary staff
• Comfort working 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced med-surg environment
• Good communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
