Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality mammography, CT, radiography and ultrasound exams for diagnostic interpretation
• Apply radiation protection principles and clinical judgement to ensure patient and staff safety
• Maintain patient records, documentation and image quality per department protocols
• Execute quality assurance and quality control tasks to support equipment reliability and regulatory compliance
• Assist with interventional and invasive procedures, including specimen radiography and stereotactic breast biopsy support
• Provide compassionate patient positioning, transfer, and age-appropriate care across the lifespan
• Participate in departmental meetings, disaster drills, and continuing education to maintain competency
• Take on ancillary duties, cross-train in other imaging modalities, and step into leadership duties when needed

Qualifications

• Current ARRT in Radiography (required)
• BLS certification required within 45 days of start
• Clinical competency assessment required within 3 months of hire and every three years
• Able to perform diagnostic exams related to assigned modality (mammography and CT experience preferred)
• Familiarity with ACR/FDA mammography requirements and documentation of required mammogram volumes
• Comfort with venipuncture, contrast administration, sterile technique, and use of automatic injectors
• Willingness to travel to other SEARHC sites as needed and to learn additional modalities per manager direction
• Ability to respond on-call and report to work within the required timeframe

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of radiographic imaging principles including mammography, CT, radiography and ultrasound
• Competence in radiation protection and patient safety best practices
• Experience with quality assurance/quality control procedures and documentation
• Skill in patient positioning, transfer, and providing age-appropriate care
• Familiarity with specimen radiography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast needle localization
• Ability to perform tele-radiology transmission and work with imaging informatics
• Comfort with contrast protocols, automatic injectors, and assisting in interventional procedures
• Good communication, teamwork, and customer-service orientation
