Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously to detect changes in patient condition
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for medical-surgical/telemetry patients
- Administer medications and IV therapies safely according to protocol
- Respond promptly to patient deterioration and participate in code responses as needed
- Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the EMR
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
- Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to ensure high-quality care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
Qualifications
- Active RN license with verification required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed on the posting
- Telemetry/medical-surgical clinical experience preferred
- Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing, Trinity skills checklist and required onboarding screening
- Must meet pre-employment health requirements (fit test, drug screen, immunizations/titers as listed)
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
- Proficiency with IV medications, cardiac protocols and ACLS algorithms
- Solid assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
- Accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical records
- Effective communication with patients, families and clinical teams
- Comfort with specialty competency testing and skills validation processes
