Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry continuously to detect changes in patient condition
• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care for medical-surgical/telemetry patients
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely according to protocol
• Respond promptly to patient deterioration and participate in code responses as needed
• Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and progress in the EMR
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans
• Complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists to ensure high-quality care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active RN license with verification required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications as listed on the posting
• Telemetry/medical-surgical clinical experience preferred
• Ability to complete Trinity specialty competency testing, Trinity skills checklist and required onboarding screening
• Must meet pre-employment health requirements (fit test, drug screen, immunizations/titers as listed)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with IV medications, cardiac protocols and ACLS algorithms
• Solid assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical records
• Effective communication with patients, families and clinical teams
• Comfort with specialty competency testing and skills validation processes
