Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient perioperative nursing care in the operating room
• Prepare the OR and surgical instruments, maintain a sterile field throughout procedures
• Assist the surgical team during cases and anticipate needs to keep workflow smooth
• Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgery, documenting changes clearly
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and perioperative staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Current RN license (state-specific licensure or compact license as required)
• Comfortable working in the operating room environment with sterile technique
• RFC or NFC credential preferred or willingness to obtain required certifications
• Current BLS; ACLS and specialty perioperative certifications a plus
• Strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to pass facility-specific onboarding and credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical instrumentation and OR workflows
• Accurate documentation and electronic medical record experience
• Calm critical thinking under pressure and strong situational awareness
• Excellent communication with surgeons, anesthesia, and the extended care team
