Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations across all body parts with professional judgment and attention to radiation protection
- Operate CT and X-ray equipment, set up automatic injectors, and adjust contrast protocols by patient age
- Assist with interventional procedures and support sterile technique in the procedure area
- Maintain patient records, quality assurance documentation, and daily/weekly QC activities
- Provide safe patient transfers and venipuncture when required
- Support tele-radiology transmissions and consult with referring physicians as needed
- Participate in supply inventory and ordering to keep the department running smoothly
- Cover shifts responsibly (including on-call coverage) and assume department duties in the absence of supervision
- Pursue and maintain clinical competency and attend required in-services and drills
Qualifications
- Current ARRT in Radiography required
- Clinical competency to be achieved within 3 months of hire and maintained every three years
- Able to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality
- Willingness to be cross-trained and competent in multiple imaging modalities (e.g., XR, CT, MRI, Mammography)
- Comfortable assisting with invasive procedures and working with patients across the lifespan (newborn through geriatric)
- Able to take call and reliably report to work within 20 minutes when scheduled
Education
- Current ARRT (Radiography) certification required
- Clinical competency documentation required within 3 months of hire
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong radiography and CT skills with attention to radiation safety
- Imaging quality assurance and ability to perform daily/weekly QC
- Competency in contrast protocols and automatic injector setup
- Patient assessment and safe patient transfer practices
- Venipuncture skills and sterile technique for interventional support
- Tele-radiology transmission and communication with referring physicians
- Familiarity with pediatric and geriatric imaging considerations
- Supply inventory and departmental organization skills
