Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional critical care nursing for adult ICU patients, delivering attentive, evidence-based care
• Operate and manage advanced monitoring and life-support equipment including ventilators and infusion pumps
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to create and adjust care plans
• Perform thorough assessments, timely interventions, and accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Maintain and demonstrate Trinity-specific competencies and participate in required skills checklists and testing
• Support patient and family education with compassion and clear communication during stressful times
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and required health screenings to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license verification required)
• Critical care/ICU clinical experience (ICU listed as core skill)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Completion of Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and Trinity skills checklist
• Ability to pass required health screenings: fit test, 10-panel drug screen, immunizations (Tdap, MMR, Hep B, Varicella), COVID-19 vaccine, influenza vaccine, and TB testing (2-step PPD or IGRA)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills for high-acuity patients
• Proficiency with ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and titration of vasoactive drips
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism and patient-centered focus
• Comfort with competency-based testing and ongoing skills validation
