Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med-Surg telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and act promptly on concerning trends
• Assess patients regularly, document findings, and update care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate effective patient care
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and discharge plans
• Participate in unit-specific competencies and maintain required certifications
• Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and excellent patient experience

Qualifications

• Active RN license for the state of Iowa (license verification required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications preferred/required as listed
• Med-Surg and telemetry clinical experience
• Ability to pass Trinity-specific competency testing and skills checklist
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to complete required health screenings and drug testing
• Willingness to participate in orientation and unit-specific training

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — program completion required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
• Effective communication and teamwork in fast-paced environments
• Prioritization and time management on a med-surg unit
