Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide clinical oversight for the Occupational Therapy Department, ensuring high-quality patient care
- Directly supervise and mentor certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Rehabilitation Technicians
- Evaluate and treat patients (approximately 80% clinical time) with evidence-based OT interventions
- Oversee and coordinate clinical education, competency assessments, and continuing professional development
- Develop, maintain, and enforce OT policies and procedures covering scope of care, evaluation/treatment, documentation, and discharge planning
- Ensure regulatory compliance with state practice acts, departmental policies, and professional standards
- Lead documentation standards and quality assurance efforts to support patient outcomes and regulatory readiness
- Support program development and perform administrative tasks as assigned (approximately 20% of role)
Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of Occupational Therapy approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (required)
- Currently licensed in the State of California by the appropriate licensing board (required)
- Possess additional qualifications as recommended by the CA Therapy Board and Rehabilitation Services Department (required)
- Member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) preferred
- Demonstrated ability to supervise COTAs and Rehabilitation Technicians and to lead clinical education/competency processes
- Strong familiarity with regulatory compliance, policy/procedure development, and documentation standards
Education
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association (required)

- Clinical leadership and team supervision

- Regulatory compliance and application of State Practice Act
