Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physical Therapist
- Deliver therapeutic procedures and modalities to restore strength and mobility
- Train and fit patients with assistive devices to improve independence
- Work to restore muscle strength, range of motion, coordination, and body alignment
- Implement pain management strategies to improve patient comfort and function
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with the treating Physical Therapist
Qualifications
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid California License to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant (LPTA)
- Ability to work daytime, full-time schedule
Education
- Graduated from an approved Physical Therapy Assistant Program
Knowledge & Skills
- Direct patient care and hands-on therapeutic skills
- Use of modalities and therapeutic procedures
- Fitting and training with assistive devices
- Restoration of muscle strength, range of motion, coordination, and mobility
- Pain management techniques and improving functional movement
- Working within the State Practice Act and under PT supervision
