Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality telemetry and medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients
- Monitor cardiac telemetry and promptly escalate abnormal findings
- Assess and document patient status, interventions and outcomes in the EHR
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Perform evidence-based interventions, administer medications, and follow safety protocols
- Precept and support other staff as needed and participate in required competency testing
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license (must be verified prior to start)
- Current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience and comfort working on Medical-Surgical Telemetry units (Telemetry experience preferred)
- Completed Trinity specialty-specific competency testing and skills checklist as part of onboarding
Knowledge & Skills
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Medical-surgical nursing practices and patient assessment
- Cardiac rhythm recognition and response
- Strong documentation skills in electronic health records
- Infection control, medication administration and clinical safety protocols
- Effective communication and teamwork in high-paced settings
