Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients in the emergency department with confidence and compassion
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments according to protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the care team to develop timely care plans
- Monitor and document patient status, responding quickly to changes
- Provide patient and family education in clear, reassuring language
- Participate in handoffs and ensure continuity of care at transitions
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted RN license in the state of California (required)
- Previous emergency department experience preferred
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Strong assessment skills, ability to work calmly under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — RN required
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency nursing best practices
- Proficiency with IV starts, medication administration, and basic ED procedures
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical patients
- Patient/family education and discharge planning
